The very first place to start is to get your head clear to work on this problem.  Find a quiet spot where you won’t be interrupted for a bit.  Close the office door – go to the park, take a coffee break.  Have a note pad and whatever else you might need when you do your planning/thinking.  The worst thing that can happen is to get a flash of inspiration and lose track of it while you’re looking for an envelope to write the critical phrase on the back of – or answering a phone call from your neighbor.
